June Favourites

 Yes the year is going too fast, let's begin. First things first, this candle from Primark smells amazing. I've put it by my bed so I can just smell it, It's a watermelon scent and the colour of the candle is amazing and vibrant as well, and it was like £1.50! Bargain.

 My lips are a nightmare and I always suffer from dry and chapped lips, that was until I randomly picked this up in Boots. It's the Nivea Essential Care lip balm and it's a god send. My lips haven't felt this uncracked in ages and I can actually wear lipsticks now without it looking all weird and a little bit nasty!

 The other blue product in this photo is another random purchase of mine and this is the Rimmel Match Perfection Powder. I swapped my Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural out of my everyday face and this bad boy is here instead. It's so nice and applies really nicely onto my skin as I use it to set my makeup. It lasts pretty long and doesn't make me look cakey and uneven, like Mac tends to do.

 I love Juicy Couture perfumes, I have millions, I love love love them. I always wear a scent at a time then swap it around, so at the moment I am rocking the Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir. For my birthday just gone I asked my parents for the Viva La Juicy Gold perfume as it was pretty new and I hadn't bought it yet, and instead I received another bottle of Noir (mum got confused bless her) so I literally have about 3 or 4 bottles of this stuff back stocked in my drawer, I love it. (Did eventually receive Gold perfume, merci parents).

 I've been giving my used and empty products back to Mac now for years, I love the idea and scheme of it, and plus, free lipstick?! Hell yeah! Although I have read that apparently in America you either get a lipstick or eyeshadow?! Would love the choice as I do have rather a lot of Mac lipsticks now. Anyway, my latest one I chose at the counter is Chatterbox which is an Amplified lipstick. It's a gorgeous pink shade and actually suits me nicely!

 I bought a massive Soap and Glory gift box at Christmas time when it was on offer because everyone was talking about how good it was and I've been making my way slowly through it since. I have had this product sat in my bathroom since, unused until I watched people's monthly favourites videos last month and thought I would actually pick it up and use it. Soap and Glory's Sugar Scrub is bloody amazing.. Why haven't I used it sooner. It smells amazing and really makes my skin feel refreshed, smooth and it's just uuuuhh bloody amazing. I will definitely be rebuying this one when it's empty.

 Finally, I hate hate hate painting my nails. I'm rubbish at it, I'm inpatient waiting for them to dry and aaaaalways no matter how careful I am, smudge them and get nail polish everywhere. Always. But I've been wearing this Rimmel 60 Second Nail Polish in Black a lot recently. I love a good black nail (I am Kylie Jenner after all) and this formula is easy(ish) to apply, dries quickly and stays nice for a few days (if I don't pick it off before hand). I really am useless when it comes to nails, I neeeeeed to sort it out.

Well I had one of those days when I went out for one thing then...... this happened. When you're trying to save, moments like these are painful, but slightly enjoyable. So let's begin..

 I watched a Zoella video and she spoke about these hair products, but I think she spoke about the coconut one, anyway I got the argan oil one as I think it sounded good and I've never tried argan oil before, and I'm currently trying this whole coconut oil pulling with my teeth so slightly sick of coconut oil.. It was also on a 3 for 2 offer, which is always fun, so I was glad to find they did a curl defining cream. I have naturally curly (and frizzy) hair so I always leave it to air dry, so I have tried all sorts of these lotions and potions, hopefully this one lives up to my high hopes for it.

 I walked through John Lewis to get to Asda and accidentally looked at the mac counter and saw this which caught my eye. It's like a glittery pretty gold colour, I never use these eye kohl pencils or anything like this, so it's a tiny bit exciting. I've been lusting over the Mac Soft and Gentle highlighting powder for ageeees now, but I found this in New Look, which is there new makeup range. It's not as pigmented or comes off as easily as I'm sure the Mac version does, but it's pretty none the less.

 I have a small addiction to sunbeds and have for a few years now, ONLY for the summer though, not like a year round thing. I will pop on one a few times a month in the summer, but I love it. Until this year when I read one article too many about skin cancer and the horrible battles people face because of issues such as sun beds and too much sun exposure without sun creme. I have decided to ditch the sunbeds for good and I am now switching to good old tan in a bottle. I was looking at the cheap stuff then I saw that St Tropez was on offer so I decided to splurge. I got the gradual tan lotion and also the self tan bronzing mousse. I such majorly at tan application so I also invested in their mitts, the application one and the one to get it off. I am hoping I will not suck too bad and walk round with a streaky awful tan, but hey, better than a sunbed!

 I like doing monthly favourites as it reminds me to start sorting out all my bills and that. Also makes me realise how fast the months actually go by! You always hear people saying 'I can't believe it's April already!' or so on, but I literally cannot believe it! It's insane how quickly months go by!

 My skin is awful at the moment and I hate it! I've properly gone on a skincare hype right now, just ordered a load of Nip + Fab skincare products I've been dying to try, and my favourite so far has to be these Glycolic Fix facial pads. You wipe all over your face with them and afterwards it feels so fresh and nice. The only thing I don't like about this product is the fact the tub doesn't really feel like its shut properly, so I worry the pads will all dry up, but other than that the product itself is really nice.

 And again with the skincare, I swear by this Clinque spot gel, swear by it. If I feel a spot coming or ones come and is giving me grief, I just pop this on it either once or twice, and then it calms down and then disappears. I have religiously used the Clinque Anti-Blemish range since I was a young teenager and will forever to (unless I find something completely amazing to take over the range) as it just works well for my skin and its just the best in my eyes!

 My boyfriend did something incredibly sweet this month. We just went to Amsterdam for a mini break on our week off and he told me on our last day that I had a surprise waiting for me when I got home. I had literally no idea what it was and when we got back there was a package and inside was Velvet Teddy, something I had been wanting for bloody ages and I'm pretty sure the girls in my local Mac store are sick of me asking about. It was so sweet how he knew, although he had been with me a few times when I had gone in and asked whilst buying something else, but still. He's the best! I've been wearing it loads, it's a really beautiful shade. I feel like I can't wear anything heavy on the eyes with it though as I feel like a drag queen, but its such a beautiful lip colour.

 And finally, I swear I've had these before but I LOVE THem and they're the Benefit Watts Up and the RollerLash which is life changing. I really want to try Mac's Soft and Gentle, but for now, Watts Up makes it onto my face nearly every single day, it just gives the best glow. And RollerLash actually gives me lashes, and it's just an amazing beautiful product. I has made me want to try the They're Real mascara as well, but again, for now, RollerLash just dominates my mascara collection, all others are irrelevant now.

Soap and Glory Review// No Clogs Allowed, Deep Pore Detox Face Mask

 My skin isn't the greatest.. I suffered from bad acne when I was a teenager.. Well thinking back at it, it wasn't that bad but it destroyed my self confidence and affected me badly.. anyway, back to now, yeah, my skin isn't the greatest so I've been trying different skincare products lately. On my list was a face mask to use whilst I'm chilling in the bath on a weekly basis. 

 On a trip to Boots I was browsing the skin care isles and I found this face mask from Soap and Glory which is a favourite brand of mine. What made it appeal to me what the way it targets pores and offers a good deep pore detox, so it was in my shopping basket. Priced at £11.50 I believe when I bought it it was on some sort of 3 for 2 skincare offer, so it might still be happening now, but it has been a while now since I bought it.

 It's a heated mask so when it's applied straight away you can feel it heat up, which is a strange sensation at first but then it's nice, because it feels like it's doing something! Easy to apply and easy to spread around the face. Smell is not offensive, I quite like it, smells like it's going to do the job it's been made to do.

 Afterwards my skin felt faaaaabulous. I now look forward to my Sunday evening pamper session in a nice Lush bath bomb filled bath, glass of rose wine and my face mask. I definitely want to try not only different face masks from different brands but more from Soap and Glory's skin care range. I caught a glimpse at a few items as I was buying this but yes, definitely will be looking at trying more from their range.

February Favourites

OH YES IT IS! It's the marble effect tray and pot that's everywhere at the moment! I know, but I just could not resist it, especially to home my Zoeva Rose Gold Luxury brushes I received from Luke for Valentines Day.

 This month I have been loving most the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I use this everyday and especially during February as I have been skint and haven't really owned any other foundations as I have used them all up. Literally all of them.. my Diors, Chanels, Macs, ALL OF THEM! Which is a nightmare. Feeling a massive high end foundation shopping spree coming soon, as I do love owning a variety of foundations rather than just one. But yeah, this foundation is amazing, does the trick for a lovely day wearing foundation, I love it.

Secondly I've been grabbing my Benefit products so much this month, especially the Gimme Brow, Hoola bronzer and my new favourite mascara in the world Rollerlash. Rollerlash is bloody amazing. I will be doing a separate review post on it soon but let me just say, it's brilliant, I love it so much.

 Then finally, I have been loving this Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick, I picked it up after I watched a Zoella video, can't remember which one, pretty sure it's a Boots haul video, and bought it straight after. She usually has that effect on me, and it's a beautiful product.

 And of course, I have been loving this tray and this pot. How lovely do the brushes look in them, look! I also picked up another H&M home pot for my other brushes as well.

February Wishlist..

I am skint beyond belief, so this post was so hard to create because I just want them all NOW! So hard to resist buying them at this very moment. But these are the main few items I cannot get off my mind at this present time, I'm sure by next week there will be another 8 or 14 added to the list, I have a problem..

First up is this sleeveless coat from New Look, I am obsessed with this sleeveless outwear look coming up, sleeveless trenchcoats, sleeveless blazers, all sorts, it's too chic to handle, thank you Victoria Beckham. I want the look, so I have chosen this beaut to soon be worn by myself, hopefully very soon.

I have some straighteners which were about £10-£20 from Boots, they do the job but not amazingly. I have stupidly thick and long hair and I've finally grasped the concept of straightening my own hair, been relying on my friends for far too long, so I want to up my game and invest in some GHDs. Like now. And I see these ones everywhere at the moment and they really do look fabulous, so I want.

Bold Metals, no shock this is in my wishlist. I have the Oval Eyeshadow, because it was the only brush left in my local Boots, but this one is next on my list. 

Ripped jeans are a must this SS15, they're so fab. I love the boyfriend baggy style as well, so I think these jeans will be perfect for me right now.

The love I have for this jumper right now is real, so real. I need this Sleeping Beauty jumper like we need water to survive, okay extremely dramatic and over the top but I just want to communicate how much I feel I need this jumper in my life. How amazing is it. HOW. I think if I were to own it I'd never take it off. EVER.

And finally, all my converse I own are broken. It must be the way I walk or how much I live in them or something but they're aaaaalll destroyed, so I need to one by one start replacing them so I can wear Converse again in my life. These I believe were my first pair, so I shall start here again.

January Favourites..

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub, MAC lipstick in Creme D'Nude, Soap and Glory Butter Yourself Moisture Lotion, Paco Rabanne Lady Million, Benefit Cosmetics Hoola

So the first month of 2015 has gone, soon before we know it, it will be September or something silly, swear each year that goes by goes so quickly! Anyway, here's some of the things I can think of that I have been loving this month.

 My lips absolutely suffer in the cold months, it's ridiculous how bad they get. Anyway I woke up one day and I was like, I NEED TO EXFOLIATE MY LIPS and I used to swear by this Lush lip scrub back in my college days, so I picked up one and the difference it's made is so good. My lips feel a lot better, they're still dry and not all perfect, but they're a lot better, I don't feel like I want to rip all my lips apart anymore, which you know, is great. Because my lips have been in a not so great condition, I haven't been wearing lipstick, but since they got a bit better half way through the month, I've been picking up Creme D'Nude all of a sudden, which is a classic in my eyes.

 At Christmas I picked up the Soap and Glory box which everyone was banging on about which was on like half price or something, and I've been absolutely loving it. My favourites out the box have been the little pack of face wipes because they're perfect to put in my bag to do my makeup every morning on the train, and this Butter Yourself moisture lotion. I've actually been using this loads, which is surprising as I usually move onto a different goo or get lazy and don't at all.

This month I bought my first Hoola, which is a bronzing boxed powder from Benefit. I've owned boxed powders before, but never this one, and now I have it I wonder why the hell I didn't buy it bloody sooner. It goes on like a dream and works wonders, I love it. I'm eyeing up my next boxed powder from Benefit right now, the Rockateur one, looks lush.

Finally my favourite pictured is Lady Million. For my boyfriends birthday a few months ago, I bought him the men's Million version, as I knew he loved it and had run out, the smell is divine. Then for Christmas he surprised me with my own one (how sweet is that) and I actually love it. It's my new special scent for special occasions or when we have our date nights, and it just smells so bloody amazing. He did well at Christmas, very well my boy.

And those are my beauty favourites for this month, it's not much but I can't really remember loving anything particularly during January apart from Celebrity Big Brother and ordering dominos..

Sunday Primark and Boots Haul..

 

Because I work during the week, and commuting to and from London, I have zero time to do anything apart from get home, have dinner, wash and then sleep, I now live for the weekends. This Sunday I went to town and even though it's after payday, I have zero money (thank you iPad I bought last month and Amsterdam trip next month), so I went to three shops and then was like, 'No Laura, you need to go home now before you spend absolutely all your money in one go', So the three shops I went to were Primark, Boots and then the Pound shop. No I'm not showing what I bought from the Pound shop, unless you're into Mr Muscle Bath cleaner, furniture polish and cloths (?!), but I do love a good pound shop trip, guilty pleasure!

In Primark I bought two underwear sets, didn't seem appropriate to show but mark my words they're really cute and pretty. I also bought this large wash bag and a small, pencil case type one. I am off to Amsterdam next month with the boyfriend so I bought this to use for it. I am a sucker for anything nautical or with an anchor on it, don't know why, always been obsessed with anchors, have a large one tattooed on my ankle, anyway, how sweet is this bag. They had like a whole set, but I refrained and just got this one. I was torn between a really sweet looking Minnie Mouse one, and this, but this won purely on the size and the material, as the Minnie Mouse one felt really quite cheap. And I got this little cute sparkly pink one to use as a pencil case for work, as I constantly lose my pens and USB sticks around my pit of a bag, so this will hopefully contain them all for quick finding in time of need purposes.

Then into Boots.. Firstly, I went to find the new Bold Collections in my local store and there were two brushes left, the oval eyeshadow brush and the tapered blush brush. Don't know whether this was a blessing in disguise as I would've bought more if they were there, but how mad is that?! They're gone already! When I was buying them the woman said it's bizzare how popular these brushes are, so I'm excited to finally (whenever I have money) to try more out, but for now, this one will do! I also saw my No7 voucher was going to run out so I had a browse over at the No7 counter, haven't been there for yonks, and found this. London and commuting and lack of sleep has ruined my skin, so I wanted a little skin pick me up to use everyday or so, just so I don't look so dead and bland all the time.. read the box.. sounded good, so bought it. Hopefully it works!

I also have been on the hunt for a face mask to again, revive my skin, and I've been loving Soap and Glory lately so I looked at them picked up their 'No Clogs Allowed' face mask, which again, sounded good on the box. I will force myself to use this, a while ago I treated myself to a Liz Earle face wash, the one with the cloth everyone loves, and I haven't used it yet... I KNOW, I will soon.. I just have been so lazy lately, I really need to kick myself up the backside and start looking after my skin again, stop with the face wipes every single day as my only way of getting off my makeup (and in the shower obviously)..

July Favourites '14

Welcome back to myself. I haven't blogged in aaaages as I recently been awfully ill with this horrible virus which made me incapable to do anything but moan and cry, it was horrible. Then when I got healthy it was catching up with work and everything I missed so HERE I AM with my first chance to sit down and blog. This is my first monthly favourites thing, I always love reading them and always run to Boots or where ever with people's favourites and my shopping list. So here it goes!

1 - Vaseline Spray & Go - I've seen these knocking around for ages but only bought it the beginning of this month and loved it. Moisturising is an absolute chore, let's be honest, but this handy spray makes it slightly more fun. Even catch the boyf using it!

2 - Viva La Juicy Fleur, Juicy Couture - I've blogged about my love for Juicy Couture perfumes before and my mad collection of them but this month all I've been wearing is this scent. It's so beautiful and is great for the summer weather we've been having.

3 - EOS balm in Blueberry - I've had a EOS for aaages now in Strawberry Sorbet and love it but I went into Urban Outfitters the other day and discovered my local one now sells these amazing things too! Was hard not to walk out with 2, at £5 a pop they're not the cheapest but my god they're good.

4 - MAC Mineralise Skinfinish - Medium - They have just redesigned the packaging so I couldn't get my hands on one of these for ages, had to switch to MAC Studio Careblend pressed powder which wasn't as good in my opinion but now I have Mineralise Skinfinish back in my life I remember how good it is and probably wont go to anyone else for my face powder!

5 - MAC lipstick in Coral Bliss - I had a few MAC lipsticks (potential blog post there wahaaay) and my all time favourite is Angel (not because it's Kim Kardashian's favourite MAC shade too...) but recently I've been reaching for Coral Bliss, which is good because I got it ages ago randomly and had never touched it, hate that. I have too many lipsticks for my own good thanks to back to MAC, but I shall try to use them all..

6 - Rimmel Stay Matte foundation - I picked this up in Savers randomly and thank god I did. I don't usually like 'drugstore' foundations, I had incredibly bad skin as a teenager so I don't want to risk aggravating it on cheap makeup so I usually stick to high end foundations, but this is just like MAC's Studio Sculpt foundation without the price tag. Definitely glad I took a chance on this!

Perfume collection

 I made a promise to myself I'd try to at least blog every other day, sat here watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs when the boyf reminds me I haven't blogged. So i grab the camera and snap this, my perfume tray (excuse the Vaseline spray, just bought this but it's amazing!) Now, can you tell what my favourite perfume brand is? If you can't, you need to get to your local Boots now and educate yourself! Yes, Juicy Couture. I am obsessed with their perfumes! They're gorgeous! I have owned every single one (Couture Couture is not pictured as it's at home with my parents) they've released.. UNTIL the two new Malibu and La La Malibu perfumes came out.. currently waiting for either my birthday, Christmas or I have enough points on my Boots card to get them.

 I got this tray from the Range and it's so cute, had it for like 2 or 3 years now, I love their homeware collection!

 Another perfume favourite of mine haaas to be the Paris Hilton perfumes, another one I've owned nearly everyone of (all apart from Tease and Dazzle), but only have Heiress (my all time fav) and Siren here with me in my uni town, well I say uni, I've literally just graduated, but you get the point.

 I have 5 Hollister sprays but they're all nearly empty. Even though they last for ages, I feel so guilty spending that much on body sprays whenever I go in there. I need to wait till their all completely gone before I splurge on them! They are amazing though, at cheer practise I used to spray them all the time and someone would go 'who just sprayed?' i'd be like 'MEEEEEE it's hollister' and love life. They're so good!

 All the cult classics take place on the tray as well, such as Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, again, owned a few of each of these brands! I also love the CK Shock perfume, so I have a little handbag one and a big one.

 This is actually me cut back on my perfumes on the tray recently after moving house. My boyf complains theres still too much and I only need 2 or 3, but what do men know!? I only have the 2 new Juicy C perfumes on my wish list so I can't see this collection drastically changing for a loooong time!

in the stone age...

so i have no internet at my uni house for like 2 weeks, and i'm already going nuts, feel like im in the stone age again. i am currently in the uni library checking my facebook, twitter, blogger and also watching the latest keeping up with the kardashians as im going crazy without watching it. I can't believe how busy the library is already and it's the just start of the year. I'm pretty sure they're all freshers as well. It's been twice I haven't been able to get a computer due to it being busy so it's literally scaring me for when deadlines are due... they should have a third year only floor so third years can always get a space.

this morning i went into town and was meant to only buy a new golf visor for the annual cheer and american footballer pub golf social that i attend as i'm a uni cheerleader, but i bought a few other bits....

I went into Boots and bought a new Real Techniques brush, the blush one, as I looooove these brushes, they're amazing, and i'm slowly trying to grow my collection. I also have run out of my MAC mineralize finish natural powder and I don't have any internet to order another one, and don't want to online shop using the public university computer, so i bought the Rimmel Stay Matt powder in transparent as i have heard good things about it and it was only £3.99. I also wanted the Matt black new Barry M nail varnish but it wasn't on offer! I only ever buy Barry M when it's on offer, so i'm keeping my eyes out for an offer to pop up.. I also bought a new Benefit You Rebel Lite, this is like the third time i've repurchased it, I love it and it's perfect for everyday uni wear.

I then went into Primark which is rare as it angers me beyond life, as it's messy, the customers are vultures and the staff hate life. It was fairly early in the morning so it wasn't as busy so I braved it... I found these footsies slippers thing, with BAMBI HEADS ON THEEEEM. They're so flipping adorable! I also bought a new sports bra, joggers and some tights, pretty boreee. I could've bought this bedsheet as well, it's navy blue but with PUGS all over it! It wasn't the nicest but it had pugs on it so I wanted it, but I managed to resist it and walked away, something very rare when i'm shopping!

omg wish i could do this at home in bed, it's so cold and i'm so tired! I have no makeup on as well and i look like a drug abuser without it so i'm literally ducked down incase I see anyone I know...

I also have about 15 books on blogging, social media and new media marketing I need to read whilst i'm catching up on all my programme i've missed due to no internet so I need to multi-task like a motherlover right now.

This whole selection is so Kylie Jenner, I love it. I love New Look so much, it's a great fashion brand which is reasonably price and always offering the latest trends so fast and easy. I'm loving the whole monochrome trend and I absolutely love the leather look dress, I need it in my life. The boots are also a passionate need, as I love the buckle over the laces. As halloween is near this Trick or Treat top is amazing and I love the spooky font so much. I shall definitely be visiting my local New Look ASAP for this goodies.

my new little boots,

I had a £40 Topshop gift voucher given to me from my work experience and had been searching for something to buy with it for months. Finally I found these beauties of boots,

 

They're incredibly comfortable and look so cute for Autumn. They also keep your feet so warm so they'll also be perfect for winter (that's if I don't ruin them from wearing them every single day!). I wore them to the zoo and felt like Lara Croft running round in boots, thankfully I didn't get them dirty! I am now growing an obsession for Topshop boots, as I bought another pair straight after these ones, and am eyeing up my next pair. My other boots, which are black with buckles down them, aren't as comfy though, so I'm scared to wear them! I need to break them in and make them less blister causing ankle ripping..

review - no7 skin illuminator

with my £5 off voucher from Boots, i bought this skin illuminator. i've always wanted to try one, and had my eye on benefit's high beam, but i thought this would be a great tester and practise before i spend big bucks!


there are two tones available and i got the PINK, the over option is PEACH.

it's packaged in a box and comes in a tube/brush format. to turn the brush on you rotate the tube neck onto the 'on' posistion, fairly simple. you squeeze the tube and the product comes out, beware, it comes out at a fast speed! to turn off you simply rotate round to the 'off' posistion.


i don't really like the brush it comes with, i find it's a little on the large size when it comes to face illuminators, so i like to use a concealer brush (a no7 one i also purchased with the voucher!) then dab it onto the areas to higlight, then use my finger to blend.

overall i really liked this product! first time i used it was when i also wore revlon's photoready foundation, which already gives off a dewy, glowy effect, so i couldn't really tell the impact. then i wore it with my every day foundation (clinque's anti blemish solutions liquid foundation) to see if it really did give off a glow and highlight my face, and it did. i'm very glad i bought this!
