Faking it...

I do not like fakes and designer knock offs. Defeats the purpose or appeal of saving up and splurging and treating yourself, plus when you do have a real designer, you don't want people eyeing it thinking 'I bet that's fake!'. I've always hated designer knock offs. I remember one time I went to Spain with a friend, was just the two of us, we went to this remote part of the island of Majorca which was actually beautiful and the shopping was actually decent. We found this bag shop which was selling designer knock offs, she purchased a Marc Jacobs purse and I went for a Louis Vuitton purse. I felt guilty every time I got this out and used it. I knew it was fake, the lady at the till knew it was fake. Couldn't deal with it. When it broke I was thrilled to throw it in the bin and bid farewell to the purse of lies, and never bought a fake with my own money again. Until now.

I think about designer handbags everyday basically. When me and my boyfriend walk through the John Lewis in town to cut to Asda faster, he has to hold my hand and drag me through the bag section as when Michael Kors hits my eyes I'm hypnotised (how fly is that wording). For Christmas I asked my parents for a Michael Kors bag, they went and Googled how much it was then laughed and told me to pick something else, so I went for a Michael Kors purse, close enough. I love it so much, I just need a beautiful bag to put it in now!

One of my designer handbag goals, is a Celine mini luggage bag They're beautiful. They're nearly in all my Polyvore sets because this bag goes with bloody everything. I love seeing Kylie Jenner rocking hers and I love it when my tumblr feed is full of pictures of this bag. I want one! But the odds of me affording this any time soon, or ever, is incredibly slim. In my spare time, I am a Googler, I love to Google, and I stumbled across a page selling these Celine style of bags for cheap and reading the reviews it sounded pretty worthwhile. Everyone was saying how surprised they were with how good and sturdy this bag was, so that was it, I did it.

I instagrammed a photo of this bag last night (picture at the top of the post) and it's probably the photo I've ever got the most likes on believe it or not. I even ummed and ahhed over even posting it because I was openly admitting I had bought a designer knock off! But I don't feel like it's a bag of lies unlike my Louis Vuitton purse all that time ago. I bought it purely because I love the shape and style of this bag, and why should I miss out on it just because I don't have £1500+ to spend on a handbag. One day I will be able to chuck this one and replace it with the real, but until then, this will have to do. And hopefully this is the last fake I buy, not that I'm snobby, it's just a nice feeling when you finally save enough for the real thing and get to flaunt it round!

Have you got any designer knock offs you've ever regretted buying or are proud to call your own?

Day in the Life of a Visual Marketing Assistant - Llwxo

For a few months I've been a Visual Marketing Assistant at a top high street brand head office and I love it! I got the job after I graduated from doing years of work experience here and making a name for myself (definitely recommend work experience 100%). I also work as a store Visual Merchandiser in the high-street brand in question in my local store, which again, I love! I've always been passionate about visual merchandising, read my blog post on it here.

Anyway, on to the post. I took some photos from my day and here is my day:

1. Lets begin - Arrived, woke up fully, read my emails and got briefed on what needed to be done for the day.

How adorable is my Rapunzel background?

2. Get to work! - Today I was creating Instagram style outfit shots of the outfits used in the photoshoots for the brand, I had a rail of stuff but most of it was not there so I had to run round the office hunting for the correct samples! Good thing I wasn't wearing heels today..

Running round finding the right departments

Good thing i've got skinny wrists to hold loads of clothes with

Hunting through beautiful clothes for outfits

3. Styling! - Next it was picking suitable accessories for the outfits, I love this. The press room has a shoe cupboard and it's amazing just walking up and down it with it's hundreds of pairs of shoes.

Racking up my outfit choices with their footwear
4. Laying it all out - I had to find different backgrounds for the different trends, so wandered round the office to find some nice flooring to use. One of them I used was outside and it was stupidly windy so I had to weigh everything down with the heavy chunky boots I had to shoot as everything was flying away. I also received some weird looks from the people in the window when I was doing the shots outside, oh well! It was tricky getting everything in the shot as well, as I only had a Instagram sized square to work with, this involved me hunting for objects to stand on, including plastic storage boxes and chairs, unfortunately I couldn't find any ladders, would've been ideal!

My box of stuff to shoot outside

My set up with my box to stand on

5. Edit - When I got all the shots I liked I edited them on my Instagram app and actually really liked  them all, definitely want to do more of these style outfit shots for my blog in the future.

Then it was lunch time!
Went for a wander down Oxford Street and into New Look, whoops.

Cheeky OOTD in the changing room, CHEEKAYY

My beautiful new blanket cardigan (will do a haul post)

Then I had to research and design a trend poster for the brand to communicate the new brands on which will be sent to the whole business, so it would be stuck up around the office, stuck up in all the back of house in every single store and just generally used as a whole. I've made, I think about 3 of these posters for the business in my time here, work experience and employed, I actually just did the last trend poster for them. I love making posters and moodboards, was always my fav thing to do at uni (other than sleep and get drunk), but I'm only really a fan of making them digitally, can't be dealing with fiddly cutting and glue on my hands.

Then I was asked to help choose some outfits and accessories for a shoot downstairs and help pack the items as well. Doing things like this makes me feel like a stylist, love it. I've been in stylist meetings, blogged about it here and being a freelance stylist looks like so much fun, what a cracking job.

Overall my day consisted of Instagrammin' outfits, making trend posters, running quick errands for people e.g. finding samples around the office in different departments, printing/copying and all sorts, then helping pack and style for a shoot. No day is ever the same, and I love all the jobs and tasks I get given. I have responsibilities, such as making effective trend posters, selecting and communicating what the mannequins in all the windows are wearing every week and others, and it definitely makes me excited to have these responsibilities. I love my job!

Thanks for reading! If you liked this sort of post let me know and i'll try and do some more similar!

Haul! Primark and New Look!

Boots - Primark
Skort - New Look
Top - New Look
Backpack - New Look

As I was uploading these photos I realised how cute these are as an outfit! I've always wanted Chelsea boots with a bit of a block heel, found these beauties in Primark for only £15 and they're actually pretty comfy as well which is what I love, if they hurt i'd probably never wear them again.. naughty but I do that..

How pretty is the pattern on this skort from New Look, I loved it so much I bought the pencil skirt version of it as well, always guilty of that, if I like it it one colour or pattern, I will buy it aaaaalllllll. I am also a total backpack convert, they're so practical yet stylish, this backpack reminds me of the one out of Princess Diaries or even a tad Clueless with the check pattern, either way it's lush and I love it.

Thanks for Reading!
Have you bought anything nice from Primark or New Look recently?

oh New Look..

I love New Look. Whenever I go in I make a mental shopping list as long as the runway in Fast Six (if you haven't seen that film, go watch it).

I bought this amazing leather look PU skort, which was the only thing I planned on buying... whoops.. FinallllyYYYY invested in a scrunchie, there was so many to choose from but I did the sensible thing and went with the more versatile one, this may not be the only one though.. feel an obsession growing. How cute is this floral top, the back of it is beautiful and open, which wont be good with an ugly bra, so underwear choice will have to be planned and not my usual half asleep picking.. How cute is this pastel check scarf?! It feels so soft as well, thought it was a good colour to transition from the rest of Summer (if we can call this a summer) into autumn and maybe even winter. AaaAAaand lastly this simple top with a kimono sleeve shape.

I had these Chelsea boots on my feet and they looked beautiful but I managed to walk out without them.. It was hard. Couldn't stop thinking about them so I may have to go back in tomorrow.... The only thing was, when I tried them on, they weren't that comfy, which isn't the best of signs isn't it... I'm really fussy when it comes to footwear. It's so bad, if a shoe hurts me the slightest, i'm put off wearing it forever.. I shouldn't as i'll end up buying a thousand pairs of shoes and only wearing them once but i'm too finicky with footwear! I'm a massive fan of comfort over anything.. Pain is beauty?! Well not for me! Trainers and comfy shoes all the way! Anyone else?

Anyway i'm off.. Got an early start tomorrow. That's another reason why I haven't been much, been doing traumatic night shifts at work (9pm till 7am, what even is that) so been extremely tired and that. But i'll get back on it!! Thanks for reading!

Oh, in previous posts i've told about the struggle of blogging because of my pain in the ass boyfriend, well here is a photo of the struggle.... enjoy!

New things!

I'm not rich I swear, the last few posts have been haul posts, but I just don't spend my money wisely! I should be buying food and saving for rent but missguided need to stop sending me emails!

Playsuit - Missguided
Acid wash skinny jeans - New Look
Black mini backpack - New Look
Acid wash ripped mom jeans - Missguided
Beyoncé crop top - Urban Outfitters
Glen Coco tshirt - Missguided
Shoes - New Look

Missguided always make the most comfy playsuits and I love lounging round in them, the print on this is mega cute as well. I'm realllly into jeans as well at the moment, going through a definite jeans phase. I got 2 acid wash pairs, I don't know why because i've never been a fan but these just called out to me. I wanted to order these Missguided jeans for aaaages now, i wasn't going to but my boyfriend spent a load of money going out, so whenever he spends, i'm spending, as we're currently trying to save up our money, so it only seems fair... when he spends, I spend..

I've wanted this backpack as well from New Look for aaaaages since I keep seeing it pop up on Bloggers' sites and instagrams everywhere! It's such a handy little thing and fits all the essentials in whilst still looking fab.

Thanks to the boyf moving his foot, the tshirt actually reads 'Just be you.. But more like Beyoncé' incase it isn't perfectly clear. I saw it in the sale in Urbs and I have a massive Bey' obsession so i grabbed it and ran to the tillpoint without looking at anything else (mainly to avoid spending more money....). This Glen Coco tshirt from Missguided is amazingly fun as well, I love silly slogan tshirts, YOU GO GLEN COCO!

Aaaaand lastly, these beaut' New Look sandals which I've been seeing eeeverywhere. They're so cuuuute!

And there it is, all my new stuff from last week. I caaaannot spend anymore money so (hopefully) there wont be a haul post anytime soon.... who am I kidding, I bloody love spending money on new clothes and accessories! You can never have too many! I have two wardrobes and a chest of drawers full and only gave my boyf 2 drawers (as we're sharing a room in a shared house with my friends), boys don't need space anyway do they?!

Zara Haul!

Had such a mare. I usually just wonder round the Zara sale and never really pick up stuff like 'omg I must have this'. I'm trying to save up lately as I'm moving out my uni house into the big bad world, so I knew entering Zara would either be safe or a mistake. And it was a mistake. At one point I counted up all the items I wanted and it totalled to well over £150. Luckily I managed to walk out with just these two beauties (self control right there). I got this baggy cropped top with cute pineapple print all over it and this pale blue beautiful maxi dress with crochet back detail. They were both under £20 and I fell in love with them in the changing room so I had to get them. I nearly took away the leather bucket back which was £20 but I loved these two more (plus i'm already lusting over a bag in River Island...)

Have you bought anything from the current Zara sale?

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed this post. Follow for more :)

Missguided Haul

Chieko Daisy Print A-Line skirt - link here
Klaritta Open Back Rainbow Playsuit - link here
Spain World Cup Fan Crop top - link here
Merry Open Shoulder Cami top - link here

I was naughty on Missguided the other day and treated myself to these beauties. This is also the first time I've ordered a bunch of stuff and haven't wanted to return/exchange any of it! Safe! The instant I tried on this playsuit I fell in love, it's amazing and so pretty, I think I might have to wear this to work if weather permits! I'm a massive Spain fan and supporting them this World Cup so I bought this crop top so I can cheer them on with! This skirt is so cute, and I usually struggle with lengths with Missguided as i'm tall and they like to make everything so short usually so when I bend over or even lif my arms my knickers appear, but this fitted nicely and I liked the length! And finally this open shoulder cami, when I first put it on I thought it was a bit too big but the more I wore it I liked the oversized casual look to it so decided to keep it. Isn't it typical, the one time you hoped you wouldn't like things to get money back to carry on saving up you end up loving it all.. Oh well! The saving continues... For now....

I was lucky enough to attend the New Look SS14 Press Day and it was fabulous, New Look really have got some lovely pieces for SS14. I extremely loved the Chelsea boots, in both black in white, I need them both in my life. I also loved the bikinis they have to offer, with intricate strap designs and beautiful tropical prints. Another piece that caught my eye was a white cropped shirt, I want it! I wanted everything in there basically! I also loved the tweet screen in the room, thought that was a nice touch, also the way the carpet for each section matched the theme and key print, nice one New Look! The mannequins were all beautiful styled, and literally cannot wait for the new Kelly Brook lingerie to come out, some really beautiful pieces. Overall I was really impressed and really enjoyed myself!
